Weekly Update: SEO, Boilerplates & Web Scrapping

This week, we'll talk about SEO, boilerplates and web scrapping.

Hey Indie Developers! 👋

Welcome to the weekly newsletter of (Awesome) Indie Dev Tools!

This week, we will focus on boilerplates and on the article of the week, that talks about web scrapping.

But first, let’s talk about Indie Dev Tools, the website.

Speed and SEO improvements

I’ve been working hard last week to improve the directory, its loading speed and SEO. As a result:

  • Loading time on tool page has been divided by 6

  • We’re close to 300 pages indexed on Google

  • Google impressions have x5 in a week

Promising results! If you want to know what I did to improve the loading time, and therefore the SEO, I wrote an article right here.

Tools of the Week: the Boilerplates

This week, we won’t mention any specific tools, but we’re going to talk about one whole category of tools: the boilerplates.

Efficient way to quickly start a new project, a boilerplate can really save you time and, even if they’re sometimes costly, money - in the end.

Indie Dev Tools lists 14 boilerplates, using more than 7 different technologies. Check them out here!

Article of the Week: Introduction to Web Scrapping

The article of the week is titled Web Scrapping, the Only Introduction You Need, and, as you guessed, it’s an introduction to web scrapping, with an example using Node and Cheerio.

Wether you’re new to the topic or not, this article is a good starting point on web scrapping!

That’s it for this newsletter!

Stay tuned, we’ll present very soon (like, next week) new features on the directory, to help you promote your tool.
